Is it June yet? My excitement knows no limits with my news! I am actually going to Africa. My church group has invited me to join the 21 others to Malawi for their first overseas mission trip in June 2009. It is difficult for me to imagine that five short months ago the passion to send educational supplies to Africa emerged into reality. Now my reality IS Africa.
My mind is starting to wonder what I will find there. What supplies do I need to take with me? What will the children be like? Will I be able to make an impact? I am certain that nothing can fully prepare me for this endeavor, but I do know one thing - I am ready for it!
I will need your help for my trip to be a success. More on my needs in a future post. For now, dear friends, be overjoyed as I am overjoyed.
Dreams really do come true - Dream big and dream often.

Woo Hoo! Now it starts to get very interesting, doesn't it? All of this is happening because you were brave enough to take the lid off your dreams. Congrats on having that faith.
Now...you not only get to change the lives of Africa's children by providing educational materials, but you also get to change their lives by holding their hands, smiling into their eyes and igniting their hearts.
It's going to be so much fun to watch all that you do!

Drew,
Dreams are only truely realized when others come alongside to make them a reality. Big Dreams can only come true when we partner together. Some passions are bigger than one. Thank you for all you have done to make my dream come true thus far. Literacy for Africa is a huge venture. We have only just begun my friend.
